WATCH: Travis Kelce settles bet with Patrick Mahomes and it’s hilarious!

Last weekend, Texas Tech beat Cincinnati 44-41. Cincinnati alumni Travis Kelce had to pay his debt on the latest episode of his podcast.

It’s almost a tradition now in the NFL where teammates will bet that their alma mater will beat another teammate’s school during the college football season. The Kansas City Chiefs’ dynamic duo participated in said bet.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was drafted from Texas Tech while tight end Travis Kelce came from Cincinnati. Their alma maters were set to play each other on Saturday, Sept. 28.

The Bearcats and Red Raiders were trading blows in the first half, going into halftime tied 24-24. After forcing an interception, the Red Raiders were able to get up 41-27 a few minutes into the fourth quarter. Despite holding Texas Tech’s offense to a field goal for the rest of the game, Cincinnati’s comeback fell short after missing the game-tying FG.

After the 44-41 loss, Kelce had to pay his debt. On the latest episode of “New Heights,” Kelce admitted defeat and put on the Red Raider’s head.

“Honestly, there’s not that big of a difference,” Jason Kelce, former Eagles’ center, joked. “Andy [Reid] would be proud.”

The Cincinnati alumni on the other hand wasn’t as happy as his brother.

“There’s a hockey helmet under here that smells exactly like our hockey equipment…I’m not really taking deep breaths in, so it’s hard to kinda talk with this thing on,” Travis said.

Mahomes made sure to rub in the victory as well by reposting the clip and adding the Red Raiders war cry – “Wreck ’em.” Even Texas Tech acknowledged Kelce for holding up his part in the wager.

This was the second time the schools have played each other. The first meeting between the Red Raiders and the Bearcats was on Sept. 21, 1968 – the game ended in a tie, 10-10. Now Texas Tech has reclaimed the lead in this series.
