Travis Kelce really loves his quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.
Over their seven seasons together, Mahomes and Kelce have won three Super Bowls and are favored to win a fourth one together this season. How could you not form a strong bond with a successful working relationship like that?
The Chiefs quarterback and two-time NFL League MVP turned 29 recently, and Kelce, one of his favorite targets on the field, bought him some birthday gifts that had quite the budget behind them.
Kelce reportedly dropped $70,000 in birthday gifts for his friend and teammate’s 29th trip around the sun.
, Kelce bought Mahomes a Rolex watch that cost him $54,200 at checkout. The initials P and M are marked on the back of the watch. The other gifts included a $2300 cardigan from Louis Vuitton and six bottles of Masseto red wine that cost $1100 each.
Kelce didn’t act alone in showing his appreciation for Mahomes on his birthday.
The quarterback’s wife, Brittany Mahomes, aided with some party planning. Mrs. Mahomes apparently made the call to add the initials to the watch Kelce gifted his teammate to make the gift more personal.
It’s also reported that Mahomes birthday bash occurred at his residence on the evening after the Chiefs/Bengals game back in Week 2.
The party had a red, black, and silver balloon arch with the number 29 in the middle of it. There were also custom cups and beer holders that had photos of the young three-time Super Bowl winning quarterback.
There’s no denying Kelce and Mahomes’ dynamic on the field as a quarterback and tight end duo. However, seeing this bond translate towards one another off the field is telling.
Many think Kelce’s time is very limited, as he has been in the league since 2013, and the shelf life of a tight end isn’t as long as that of a quarterback. Yet, it’s safe to say that even if Kelce were to hang it up down the road sooner rather than later, the duo’s friendship would most likely continue beyond football.
